There are three basic types of golf clubs: woods, irons and putters.
Woods are used for hitting the ball a long way, and they are called woods because that is what they used to be made from. Irons (numbered from 1 to 9) can do everything that the woods can do, but they don’t hit the ball as far. The No.1 iron hits the ball low and long, while the No.9 and the wedge irons hit high, short shots. Putter gives the ball a smooth roll across the green to get it into the hole. It is the only club that isn’t designed to hit the ball into the air.
However, it is important to understand all the aspects of golf clubs, such as head, shaft and grip, how they can effect you and your game.
To achieve a desired swing from your golf clubs there is an important dynamic between the weight of a golf head, the length of the club, as well as the weight of the grip and shaft. Don't hesitate to seek help if you are not familiar with them.
When selecting your golf clubs, you do not need to spend a fortune on your golf clubs. There are often great discounts that you can look forward to. |
